Lens fabrication.
The lab equipment and our in house stock of lenses allows us to fabricate single vision eyeglasses on the spot while the patient waits. We stock 1.5 (regular thickness) and 1.6 aspheric (thin ) lenses all with a very slippery scratch resistant and multi layered reflection free surface.
Test out multiple styles.
The mirror camera system allows the patient to compare 4 pairs of glasses simultaneously. The camera system is calibrated to reduce the parallax error that is so common in phones and computer monitors. The equipment also allows us to hands free measure optical centering for digital progressives, measure the wrap and angle of the frame and suggest front surface curvature for individualized digital progressive lenses as appropriate.

Autorefractor.
The auto refractor measures the objective response of the patient's eye to visual stimuli. It measures the size and shape of the eye independent of patient involvement. It also measures the curvature of the cornea. The next measurement is the pressure of the eye by a tonometer. The pressure is important as a symptom of glaucoma or other physiological changes.
Phoropter.
The phoropter is remote controlled so the optometrist does not have to be physically near the patient as they do the subjective vision test. This basically fine tunes the objective test, the familiar questions of "Which is better A or B?" Everyone sees differently and everyone wants to have their own unique vision. The autorefractor prints out the measurement of each eye independently, the subjective exam accommodates for usage, custom, and difference in acuity between the two eyes.
